Mahalladars and Dafadars of Village Police shall get salaries as per Grade 20 and 19 of the National Pay Scale respectively (Writ Petition No. 17258 of 2017 Lal Mia and Others vs State and Others). The Petitioners filed the writ petition seeking justice against the inaction/failure of the State and Others in not absorbing the petitioners in the revenue set-up of the Government upon regularizing them in their respective posts as Government employees with continuity of their service along with all other benefits and seeking the respondents’ inaction be declared to be without lawful authority and of no legal effect.
The court held that,
- The services of the village police personnel are to be considered as Government service.
Mahalladars and Dafadars are entitled to due salary and benefits as of right guaranteed by Article 31 of the Constitution. - স্থানীয় সরকার (ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ) কর্মচারী চাকুরী বিধিমালা, ২০১১ has been repealed and shall have no effect.
